Is it easy to find an electric car in CR? I've been reading that gas prices are pretty high so it made me wonder if aiming for an electric or hybrid car would be a good idea. But I also wonder how their availability compares to the US. Do car dealerships mostly sell the same cars as they do in the US?

Thanks!
Electric cars are something that CR has HIGH on their list. They are actually installing charging stations for electric cars now. I've seen more and more charging stations recently.
As for how available they are...I can't answer that question. I wish I knew the answer to that one...but I haven't looked. But, seeing that CR has been installing stations...THAT tells me, they plan on making it easier to get an electric vehicle.

I do believe that they are not taxing you as much or not at all on EV's. I personally would go hybrid unless you are sticking to a major center. I thought about importing an electric side by side, but at the time the government had not changed the import tax exemption. The cost of power is more than the US and the more power you use the more it costs you. They have a tiered system. If you had a solar system to charge your EV would be the best.
I suppose it is relative to where you live in Canada(Saskatchewan) we pay/L and it is $1.25/L in US conversion thats 4.73/Gal so i consider gas not expensive in CR. also I would think its not NA where you are driving 20 miles each day but rather only when you want to explore( when you first arrive and likely the first yr) other than that a routine sets in.
