For Rebecca and Allen and anyone else that wants to share.
How long are you planning on staying in Costa Rica? Also, how much time had you spent in Costa Rica when you decided to stay? I'm interested in how you came to the decision. I'm not currently in CR, but once the world starts spinning again, I'll be back.
By the way, I like the Pérez Zeledón area. I've only been there a couple of times on the way to Chirripó, but I'd like to go back and explore San Isidro del General, when I have time.
I just arrived yesterday for my first trip to CR which will help me determine [If/When] I move here.
I am currently about 20 minutes from where Allen/Rebecca live because I just saw Allen riding on his motorcycle on Route 242 about 12:45 [small world]
I will be staying in this area for 5 days and then up to Liberia for 5 days and then over to Heredia for the last part of my trip.
The drive from the Airport was exciting [got lost coming out of San Jose and then my phone died with my navigation] but today has been wonderful so far.

Dennis, that is too funny. I know exactly when you are referring to...Allen was on his way to check out a rental house for the video we are working on. Small world indeed.
If you're looking for a restaurant in this area with good food, the Mirador La Torre is great and the view of the city is spectacular. The ideal time to go for the view is late afternoon and stay to watch the lights come on in the city. Tell the owner Rudy that Allen & Rebecca sent you.
If you're craving gringo food, Bazooka's has a great gringo menu.
We.....my wife and I are going down for a 13 day stay in Samara, this fall. After researching much we feel this is a good jumping off point. The Tinamaste area looks promising as well. That will be our 2nd recon visit in the future.
