That article was written June 24, 2015. 

While I am NOT 100% certain...it is my understanding that YOU MUST Be a resident to get a CR license. In the past, yes you could, but now, CR makes it very difficult BECAUSE, they want YOU to become a resident.  

They do NOT want people to remain perpetual tourist...so a lot of things have changed.

Recently...I went to get internet from Kolbi for a house I was renting and they denied me internet.  Eventhough, a couple years ago, I was able to get internet in that SAME office and the guy, recognized me.

He said NOW...you must be a resident or have a CR corporation.

Things in CR change all the time...but unfortantely...INFORMAtTION ON THE INTERNET....stays outdated.

I think you are correct...I read this and it seems to be an up to date article and goes along with what I have heard, read and learned.

So, it seems, there is NO way to get a driver's license until after you become a resident. Bummer.

In the video...it seems, that they were NOT able to get a driver's license UNLESS they could show they had a Work Permit (almost impossible to get in CR) or show that they are refugees???

So, the video only caused more confusion on the topic of trying to get a driver's license in Costa Rica???

Did you learn something that was beneficial that I missed?
